Port aviation
Inaugurated in may 23rd 1909, Port Aviation was the first organised airport in the world, at a time when there was only meadows used to land and take off.
It was a large closed area, with airstrips and a control tower.
It was located at Viry-Chatillon and was called Port Aviation, which means Aviation Harbour.
The airport mess as well as information on the old airport are quite close to the hotel (20 minutes’ walk, 7 minutes by car).
Musée Delta / Delta wings Museum
Musée delta is located close the Paris Orly Airport.
It is dedicated to aviation in general, and more specifically to Delta wing planes and to one of its inventors, Nicolas Roland Payen.
Versailles castle
Located 35 min by car from the hotel, the famous castle built by Louis XIV, is a must, both for the castle itself and its magnificent gardens.
You may also visit the coach museum and have a look at the nice city of Versailles.
Vaux le Vicomte castle
Vaux-le-Vicomte castle, is located at Maincy, 35 kms from the hotel, near Melun.
Build in the XVIIth century (1658-1661), for the Louis XIV surintendant of finance, Nicolas Fouquet.
Jalous of Nicolas Fouquet and his particularly nice castle, Louis XIV put Nicolas Fouquet into jail, and asked the famous architect Nicolas Mansart to build the fabulous Versailles castle.
Fontainebleau castle
35 minutes by car from the hotel, the royal castle of Fontainebleau is a castle principally of a Renaissance and classic style.
Napoléon 1st made the castle renovated just after french revolution, and stayed here several times.
Just before its exile in the Elbe island, he made his famous goodbyes to the soldiers, on April 20th 1814.
Disneyland Paris
Disneyland Paris is located 50 minutes by car from the hotel.
